A few weeks ago we talked about tension rings, where the ring was embedded within the setting. This week we feature the opposite with Cathedral settings which use arches to lift, frame and protect the center stone. It resembles the beautiful arches found in many cathedral churches, and for this reason, the cathedral setting is thought to be the most romantic of the settings. They can be accentuated with pave diamonds, additional sidestones, engraving and detailing.
