This morning's ring comes from a bride married last May and it is quite the lovely set. Her round brilliant is accompanied by a fabulous pave band with diamonds and detailing all around. Notice the contrast of the square shaped diamonds of her engagement band against the round diamonds on the wedding band. What a great combination!

We came across a fabulous Soho boutique last week called Atelier Minyon. They prides themselves in their two distinct styles - classic and edgy - a la Jekyll and Hyde. Today we're exploring Hyde with some edgy skull rings, made popular in the late seventies by Keith Richards. Atelier Minyon carries two lines of skull rings: designer skulls (mixed metals of 24K and silver - retailing $3900 and under) and fine skulls ("rockstar pieces") that retail between $10,000-33,000.
About this Jeweler: Atelier Minyon is a Turkish based company with six stores in Turkey for almost 45 years. They opened their first US boutique in SoHo back in 2008, and are looking to open several more boutiques in the US within the next few years. So keep an eye out! They do a lot of custom work and nothing is impossible for them!

We have an incredibly unique heirloom ring to share with you today that is a piece of a bracelet in its original form. If you look closely, you can imagine what that bracelet must have looked like! And now, the round brilliant center stone contrasted with a series of emerald and other square cut diamonds makes for such a dramatic and eye catching cocktail ring!
About the ring: "My great grandmother was given a bracelet by her best friend, which she then passed down to her two daughters who split the bracelet into two pieces. From there, each daughter passed along certain pieces of the bracelet, reset in many different ways to their daughters and granddaughters (ME!) Each piece has retained its form from the original bracelet - stones have not been reset into new settings. This particular ring was set on a white gold band that my grandmother designed with a jeweler in Memphis."

We love featuring special events we attend, and of course, the rings we happen to see at them. Today we feature a baby shower of a dear friend whose bundle of joy is due to arrive in November. Here's a peak at some of the decor, goodies, and of course, a fabulous cocktail ring.
Check out this ring we spotted on one of the guests. Very chic, cool, with a nice mix of blues and yellows. And its from Banana Republic!
The shower had a safari theme. Colors were zebra stripe, light blues, and a touch of tangerine.

We have quite a ring to share with you today. Yes, it is a one of a kind yellow diamond set in two rows of tiny diamonds from celebrity jeweler Alan Friedman. The double halo setting of the ring is similar to the cushion we featured in July and oh how we adore this look. Simply fabulous and and we are hoping to follow up to see what type of wedding band she picked to complement it!
Jeweler: Alan Freidman of Beverly Hills.
About this Ring: "It's from designer Alan Freidman of Beverly Hills who has a store off Rodeo (N Canon). He has created quite a name for himself working with pink & yellow diamonds. Check out the "press section" on his website. He has quite a resume...Janet Jackson & Carmen Electra rocked engagement rings from his collection. I almost passed out in the store! He has amazing stuff and he worked personally with my fiance selecting the ring. Everything is one of a kind. We never looked at rings together & he surprised me with mine big time! It has both yellow & white gold accents so it matches all my jewelry"
And the proposal is beyond perfection...
An Engagement Story: "He whisked me away for a little pre-Christmas getaway at the St. Regis hotel in Dana Point. The St. Regis is special to us because we stayed there when we first started dating. I thought we were just having a nice lunch and spa day but he clearly had something up his sleeve. After appetizers and champagne overlooking the grand lawn, we took a walk to catch the shuttle to the beachfront restaurant. We stopped along the way in the Botanical Garden (per his suggestion) where the gazebo was decorated with rose petals and tea light candles spelled out 'Marry Me?.' It was amazing! We enjoyed the garden for about an hour before heading into the spa for a couples massage, and later family joined us to celebrate that evening at the hotel (what a great surprise!)."

Heidi Klum sports a gorgeous yellow diamond, also called a Canary diamond, which is the most popular of the fancy colored diamonds (yes, fancy is a word commonly associated with colored diamonds). With white diamonds, we tend to focus on cut and clarity as a measure of the stone's brilliance, but Fancy or Colored diamonds are all about the hue!
About the ring: Fancy yellow oval cushion cut 10 carat diamond set in a thin band of small yellow pave diamonds. Estimated to be worth over $150,000.

Today we feature a ring with a gemstone that we have not seen on RingSpotters yet - Jade. Known for its varying shades of green, Jade can vary from intense, even green (similar to apple green and spinach green), to the lighter and to more heavily speckled shades of green. Jade is considered to be a symbol of beauty, grace, and purity in Chinese culture, and is thought to be the most noble of all gems. Paired with baguettes and rounds on a yellow gold setting, this ring really is one that will be spotted from across the room.

This morning we have some funky and fabulous cocktail rings for you. We've got an Amethyst and a Turquoise, an Onyx and a Tiger's Eye. Whichever semi precious stone floats your boat, you'll surely love the deep hues and dramatic flair of these rings.
The jeweler, Sondra Osuchowski, started her company Funky and Fabulous as a side business making custom jewelry for bridal parties in her hometown, New Jersey. Four years and many fabulous pieces later, she moved to San Francisco to continue her dream career. She knew she was on the right path when Paris Hilton bought one of her pieces!! Be sure to check out her bridal line - we love her crystal pieces and lustrous pearl necklaces.
