I saw this story on the news yesterday morning and dug it up so we could all imagine what this rock would look like on a ring. Pictured below is an emerald recently discovered in North Carolina thats considered to be the largest cut gem ever recovered from North America. The guy who dug up this 64-carat whopper said it was so big it looked like an "empty 7 Up bottle". Crazy! Oh, and I love the emerald's nickname...the Carolina Emperor.
